La Piparra in Bilbao

"This amazing little restaurant is located close to the old town centre of Bilbao. They offer a relatively fixed menu every day which includes a soup, the main course, and a dessert. We tried both the hot veggie broth as well as the cold cucumber soup and they were both delicious and refreshing. For the main course we had curry and a vegan steak and both were great as well. As for the desert - a chocolate cake and a cheesecake - they were the cherry on top! The best part is - everything was vegan! As for the service, the server was really kind and helpful. And at the end we even got to meet the chef who gave us baking tips. All in all a wonderful experience! We highly recommend visiting!"

"Very friendly and nice atmosphere, service was great (despite our nonexistent Spanish knowledge) and food very very tasty. Nice music in the background, just fun. Lovely vegan place! Also quite cheap in my opinion, 17 Euros for 3 tasty courses? With free fresh bread on the side??? Pretty nice. Also, again, the staff was very sweet and caring."

"I ate lunch here on a Saturday and sat down right away, with a beautiful view of the street. I ordered a beer and one of their combo plates (migas con verduras, chorizo vegetal, casero y ensalada). I didn't quite know what migas were, but it was a bread crumb dish with vegan chorizo and salad. It was very tasty, light on the tummy dish and their veggie chorizo had a nice flavor/light spice. I would eat here again to try more of their food!"

"I’ve eaten vegan food all over Spain on my travels and this is the best I’ve had. Fresh, delicious and incredible value. I wish I lived nearby and I could eat there regularly. Highlight for me in the plant based chorizo. If you are in Zaragoza don’t miss out, make sure you give it a go!"

"Very good vegan food, good waiter. The bread was also very fresh and delicious. Bread, water, and dessert are included in the daily menu. The ambiente could be improved! There is camera surveillance in the cafe. Unfortunately, it's a very bad, run-down neighborhood with many shady migrants standing around in the street, looking angry and having nothing to do. A no-go at night."

"This is a vegan restaurant in the city of Zaragoza. Being students we wanted something affordable and this was a good stop for it. I ordered the falafel platter with the option of fries. The portion was enough for one person. The staff was friendly and the overall ambience was satisfactory."
